Perspectives of Community-dwelling Persons Living with Memory Problems and Caregivers on Managing Eating Challenges
What is this Study about?
This study aims to identify the eating challenges and swallowing problems commonly experienced by persons living with dementia and their caregivers and the difficulties they encounter while managing these challenges. Data from the semi-structured interviews with persons living with dementia and their caregivers will be used to fill in the gap in research and inform the care provided to persons living with dementia in the community.
What Will Happen in This Study?
1. Participants will be invited to take part in semi-structured interviews discussing their experiences with eating challenges and swallowing problems.
2. The interviews will take approximately 30-60 minutes of their time. The interviews can be conducted in person, via Zoom, or telephone call.
Who is Eligible to Participate in this Study?
You are eligible to participate if you:
- Speak English
- A person with memory problems experiencing eating challenges or swallowing problems in the community
- OR if you are or were a caregiver to a person with memory problems with eating challenges or swallowing problems.
