Exploring the Uptake and Impact of the Driving and Dementia Roadmap
What is this Study about?
The aim of this study is to understand how people with dementia and family/friend carers experience the Driving and Dementia Roadmap website. This website contains resources to help people in the decision-making about when to stop driving and adjust to life after driving. We are also interested in knowing how the Driving and Dementia Roadmap may impact how people manage the process of stopping to drive. The findings of this study will be used to improve and ensure that resources, like the Driving and Dementia Roadmap will continue to be available for people with dementia and those who support them.
What Will Happen in This Study?
Participants will be asked to use the Driving and Dementia Roadmap website for 2-6 weeks. They will be asked to make notes in a diary as they use the website. After using the Driving and Dementia Roadmap participants will take part in an interview (about 1 hour) or focus group (2 hours) where they will be asked questions about what using the website was like for them (e.g., what they liked or didn’t like, what was useful, how did it affect what they felt about stopping to drive, etc.). Interviews and focus groups will take place via online or telephone.
