- The Care Partner Journey
This week's Learning Series speaker is Gig Dooling
- Gig is a happily retired public servant having spent almost 32 years with the government of Newfoundland and Labrador in a variety of Executive and Leadership Roles.
- In 2020, she retired from Public Service to spend time with and share in the care of her sister Regina (only a year older than Gig) who was in the later stages of Young Onset Dementia.
- Gig and her family have been advocates for their sister Regina for almost a decade as they traveled their journey with Regina. Despite losing her sister to dementia in 2021, Gig and her family feel it's important to continue to raise awareness about the disease and to help others who are currently on the dementia journey.
