Let's Get Cooking in Barrie
The second round of the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County's Let's Get Cooking program is off to a great start, with caregivers learning how to make some healthy meals together.
Thanks to the Aspira Barrie Waterford retirement home, our staff, volunteers and chefs were able to spread out in the kitchen to learn a few new recipes and techniques.
Caregivers from across the community came together to learn how to make brain-healthy meals for those they care for living with dementia. We kicked things off with high-protein egg cups, shared plenty of laughter, and left with new knowledge (and full hearts!).
Caregivers give so much of themselves, and burnout is real — so it was a joy to welcome this lovely bunch for a morning of learning, nourishment, and connection.
