Thank you for walking with us

The weather was a bit cold and dreary for the annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's May 25, but there was enough love and excitement in the air to keep everyone in high spirits.
We are thankful for all of the sponsors and community partners who came together to make this event a success! Especially our Springwater Provincial Park hosts, the Beausoleil First Nation and Ontario Parks.
From Patty McLaughlin and Friends providing the entertainment, to our Barrie Art Club partners for providing Zentangles artwork and Enrique's caricatures, to the Alpacas from Cedar Hollow Farm and music from KOOL FM, there was plenty to experience. And we can't forget our mascot dressed as a unicorn, and a special appearance from the OHL Barrie Colts' Charlie Horse!
For more sponsors who made this event special, see our Friends of the Alzheimer Society page.
We also thank our food sponsors - Bean Around the Block for the barista beverages, Domino's Pizza and Miss Ritchie's Kitchen for their warming food.
So far, we have raised more than $60,000 for the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County. That includes independent fundraising events by Roberta Place and Spencer House.
This money is used to support individuals living with dementia in the area, providing them with access to free programs and services to support their needs, as well as their caregivers'.

The Goldie gang, consisting of Ron Allen and his family members, were walking in their 25th annual event, started in memory of their Gramma Goldie. Today, family matriarch Sharon Allen inspired the walk at Roberta Place. Family members posed with their customized umbrellas, along the Honour Path.

Patty McLaughlin and Friends were strumming some classic tunes to entertain the audience.

Guest speaker Michael Imort shared his thoughts about the support he has received from the ASSC.

It takes many volunteers to put on a special event, and we are thankful for those who turned out for this year's walk.

Family members joined together to pay tribute to loved ones.
