Volunteer Roles
Minds in Motion®
Minds in Motion® is a community-based social program that incorporates physical and mental stimulation for people with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and their care partners.
Through the Minds in Motion® program, both the person living with dementia and the care partner can benefit from the following:
- increasing physical activity through moderate intensity group exercise
- establishing new friendships with others who are living with similar experiences
- engaging in fun, social activities
Volunteers will assist the Minds in Motion Coordinator set up and break down, demonstrate the exercises and participate in the social activities.
The Social
Beginning in January 2026 Alzheimer's Society of Waterloo Wellington will be offering an exciting new program: The Social.
The Social offers opportunity for engagement, stimulation, and socialization for the attending client, while also offering the care partner time for individual needs. The activities offered within the group are focused on stimulating the six domains of wellbeing which include: cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, vocational, and physical.
