WAM - Lori and Randy
Lori's husband Randy lives with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Lori made the decision to put Randy in long-term care after the realization she couldn't be a caregiver any longer.
WAM - Deb and Rocky
We are catching up with people who have shared their stories with AS York to see how they and their person living with dementia are doing. Deb is doing OK, trying to adjust to her new normal. Rocky, her husband, passed away after a battle with young-onset dementia in 2021. He was 66 years old.

WAM - Jane and Eileen
World Alzheimer's Month - We first met Jane and her mom Eileen during our 2018 holiday appeal. When we chatted with mother and daughter duo, Eileen was living with Jane and required assistance for her day-to-day activities. Eileen passed away on Jan. 6, 2022 after hip surgery and a lung infection.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month. Throughout the month, we are going to say hello to some of the people who have shared their stories with us over the years, including Jean and Tom. Tom is living with young-onset dementia.
WAM - Jennifer and Feroze
We first met Jennifer and Feroze for an Alzheimer’s Awareness Month story in January 2020. At the time Jennifer was trying to look after her partner, Feroze, who lives with Alzheimer’s disease. Feroze is now living in long-term care.

We first met Cynthia and her mom Shirley in our 2018-2019 annual report. Shirley, living with mixed dementia, had recently moved into a seniors apartment in Mount Albert to be closer to her children. Fast forward three years and Shirley is now in long-term care at a facilit.

Aurora Bridge Club’s event raises funds
The Aurora Bridge Club, which has been in operation since 1965, hosted its Longest Day event June 21, offering free meals, bridge and a chance to learn about AS York and the programs and services it offers.
