IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is back, and we can’t wait to walk alongside you this May! We are excited to announce that this year’s walk will take place on Sunday, May 31st and we hope you will join us for this meaningful, fun filled event.
4 communities across Algoma will be hosting a Walk with Sault Ste. Marie & Elliot Lake being in-person events and Wawa & Blind River will be online events where you can “Walk Where You Are, In Your Own Way”! Registration is now officially open for this year’s walk, and we invite you to join us. Every participant helps raise critical funds and awareness for local programs and services that support those living with dementia and their care partners.
Forget Me Not Raffle Tickets
We are thrilled to announce the return of our annual Forget-Me-Not Raffle! This year's prize lineup is more spectacular than ever. Every ticket purchased helps fund vital programs and local services for those living with dementia and their care partners.
With a total prize value over $15,000, this year's raffle is our biggest yet!
We have curated four fantastic prize packages thanks to the generous support of local businesses in our community:
1st Prize:
- $6,000 Cash (partially provided by Sargin Developments, Allstate Insurance, KPMG LLP, Lyons Timber Mart, and Northwood Funeral Home)
- A 7-Night European Cruise (donated by Expedia Cruises)
2nd Prize:
- Over $1,300 in gift certificates to 19 local restaurants and a Hollywood VIP Limo Service
- $500 in Petro-Can Gas Cards (provided by Excel Auto Repair)
3rd Prize:
- $1,000 Storey Home Gift Certificate
- Black & White Diamond Ring (provided by Hess Jewellers)
- Gift certificates for Eye Deal Optical, Steelton Shoes, and Jasmine
4th Prize:
- Over $1,800 Spa/Beauty/Wellness Package with gift certificates and baskets from local favourites
Ready for your chance to win? The draw date is on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Tickets are available NOW for just $10 each and can be purchased in person at our office located at 61 Great Northern Rd.
Ticketholders are only eligible for ONE of the prize packages. Once drawn, tickets are not re-entered. Must be 18+ to purchase and redeem. All prizes must be redeemed before March 24, 2027.

Host a Social with a Purpose
The Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District invites you to participate in the do-it-yourself fall fundraiser Social with a Purpose (formerly known as Coffee break)
This popular event runs in the month of September and October, and can be hosted in-person, online, or a combination of both. You can host at work, with your social club, or at home and help make a difference in our community.
Use your creativity and blend with another event such as a dress down day, yard sale, or Game Night.
Visit our Anything for Alzheimer's page to register online or contact the local Alzheimer Society at 705-942-2195 for more information and to receive a kit which contains a coin box, posters and information to get you started.
Funds raised remain local to support programs and services that improve the quality of life of local people living with dementia. Social programming, family support and counselling, education, Adult Day Program, and recreation therapy can make such a difference!
