If you, a family member or someone you know has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia, we can help.

The Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville is a non-profit, registered charity that offers support, education, and advocacy for families of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

MVV 2026

We are one of five Societies in Ontario part of the South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). This network, established by the Ontario government, helps fund and promote integration among our health care resources at both the local and regional level.

All Societies depend on donations and volunteer support too. Money raised by each Society stays within their region, with the exception funds shared for research.

Our Commitment to Cultural Safety

Cultural safety is fundamental to creating an environment where all people feel respected, included, and secure in their cultural identities. We are committed to fostering spaces that are free from racism, discrimination, and other forms of exclusion, where individuals can access services, opportunities, and supports with dignity and confidence. Guided by the principles of equity, justice, and connection, we recognize that cultural safety requires ongoing reflection, learning, and action to address systemic barriers and power imbalances.

Our commitment is informed by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action, Canadian Charter of Rights for People with Dementia, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and our responsibility to advance accessibility, inclusion, and belonging for all. Through culturally safe practices, accessible design, plain-language communication, staff education, meaningful community partnerships, and other equity-deserving communities, we strive to create welcoming and inclusive environments where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered.

The Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville team understands that cultural safety is a continuous journey. We will actively seek feedback, listen to diverse voices, and remain accountable in our efforts to prevent and remove barriers. By approaching this work with courage, humility, and respect, we aim to strengthen trust, improve experiences, and ensure that every individual can participate fully and authentically in our organization and community.

Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully gather today on the lands that the Algonquin people left their footprints on long before us. We are privileged to provide care and support on the lands that Indigenous peoples have called home for thousands of years. We recognize that we live, work, and play on lands that are inhabited by Indigenous, Métis and Inuit Peoples. We are committed to learn about the true history of this country and provoke thought, reflection, and positive change in these beautiful lands and waters that we share.
