Join us Tuesday, November 7 for our next Alz Ed as we introduce you to the Continuing Care Behavioral Health Team and explain the role of the Behaviour Resource Consultants. Jennifer and Mary Anne will provide an overview of the PIECES Framework-a guide to help us understand why behaviours happen with dementia.
Mary Anne Johnston is one of three Behavioural Resources Consultants in the Northern Zone covering Pictou County for over 15 years. She is a registered nurse with a background in Mental Health and Applied Behavioural Analysis. She has worked for over 30 years supporting adults experiencing impaired cognitive function with behavioural expressions. Prior to taking on this role, Mary Anne spent much of her career as Director of Support Planning with Riverview Home Corporation.
Jennifer Loucks is the Behaviour Resource Consultant for Cumberland County, one of three covering the Northern Zone. Jennifer has worked over 20 years as a Recreation Therapist in various communities in New Brunswick before coming to this role in 2018. Jennifer’s experience lends itself to her current role having worked in Mental Health and Addictions, Geriatric and Veterans programs, Leadership in Long-term Care and a Coach for the Long-term care sector in New Brunswick for Non-Violent Crises Intervention, GPA and U-First.
