How can I make a difference?
Volunteer at our special events, become a support group facilitator, provide office support, or volunteer at information booths - these are only some of the areas we need your help! Volunteers are essential to the work that we do to support people affected by dementia and fund research into the cause and cure. We couldn’t do it without you!
We know that volunteering is a great way to engage your brain, stay social, and learn new skills. These are all great ways to keep your brain healthy - so what are you waiting for?

Board Recruitment Information
Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is looking for volunteers to join our board!
The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories supports individuals through seven regional offices in Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and Yellowknife. The Board of Directors sets the direction for the Society to enable the provision of education, resources, and support for persons with dementia, their families and care partners. The Board also supports and commit funds to dementia research to find a cause and cure.

IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's Volunteers
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's is a Canada-wide initiative, that aims to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. This engaging event is dedicated to securing financial support, enabling the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories deliver invaluable assistance to individuals and families affected by dementia in our local communities.
Walks will be held across the country on the weekend of May 24 & 25, 2025!
By participating in this event, you'll directly contribute to supporting over 62,770 individuals living with dementia and their care partners in Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

Alzheimer's Face Off Pro-Am Hockey Tournament Volunteers
The Alzheimer’s Face Off presented by Christenson Communities Ltd. (AFO) is an Edmonton-based tournament that pairs hockey enthusiasts with some of their favorite NHL Alumni. This fun-filled weekend event focuses on raising funds to enable the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories to continue to provide help for today through free education programs and support services for those living with dementia and their families and hope for tomorrow through research initiatives happening right here in Alberta.
