4th Annual Cycle for Mom
Terry Fannon started Cycle for Mom four years ago to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories to honour his mother's memory.
Terry Fannon started the Cycle for Mom event four years ago to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories. To date, it has raised $19,708 which, in part, enables the Society to continue to provide free education programs and support services to individuals diagnosed with dementia as well as their family members and care partners.
“My mom died 14 years ago with Alzheimer’s disease and many of us have a relative, a co-worker or a friend who has been diagnosed with dementia. Together you and I can make a difference for families on their journey with dementia.” – Terry Fannon
This year was special: Terry Fannon and Rob Strashok were joined by Arlette Peterson (Rob’s sister) plus friend Steve Johnsen who also reached out to their network of friends, relatives, and associates. Thanks to 112 wonderful contributors they raised $9,420 for the Society!
This larger team completed the ride on Monday, June 28th, cycling in 31°C. They cycled 108 km in 5.5 hours from Breton to Edmonton supported by Vicki Fannon, Randy Peterson, Susan Campbell and Jo Reinbold (who made great banners to hang off the back of their support vehicle)!
If you would like to help Terry and team reach their goal of $10,000 for their 2021 ride, please donate today!
Thank you, Terry and team, for your generous support of the Society! You are truly making a difference in the lives of individuals and families on their journey with dementia!
