This is your opportunity to have impact by recognizing our most dedicated volunteer and get involved with our Society!

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is seeking community members to join the Roger Marple Volunteer Award Selection Committee. This prestigious award recognizes volunteers who embody Roger Marple's dedication to supporting those living with dementia.

The award will be presented to the volunteer who supports people living with dementia and personifies Roger’s promise of: 

“I promise I will not make fun of any challenges you may have with your terminal condition called life. I will see who you are regardless of any challenges you may have.  I will recognize and support you to live your life to the fullest regardless of the challenges you have. I promise to recognize what hope looks like for you living your life to the fullest, with the time you have left, so you can live a good quality of life. And most of all, I will respect who you are.”

Committee Responsibilities:
- Evaluate nominations using a standardized rubric
- Select the award recipient based on highest score
- Maintain objectivity throughout the selection process

Committee Composition:
- Past award recipient (preferably most recent)
- Executive Member of the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories
- Three community members involved in dementia support or research

How to Apply:
Community members can apply year-round, with an annual deadline of September 30th.
