If you are newly diagnosed

Getting a diagnosis of dementia can be overwhelming. We strongly recommend that you visit your local Alzheimer Society for information, programs, services and support.

To help you, we have created a number of resources to learn about dementia and how you can live as well as possible with dementia.

If you are a family member or caregiver

For anyone who needs help

"I too was reluctant to seek help. I thought, 'OMG I live with this. Why would I want to listen to other people talk about it?' Going to my first support group was the best thing I have ever experienced. These are trained people with tips and supports I now have access to." – Carol-Ann, from Ontario. Carol-Ann is the caregiver for her husband, Stan, who lives with dementia.
