Research is key to finding treatments and helping people affected by dementia maintain their quality of life. The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is proud to support biomedical and quality of life research and to champion the new area of dementia-friendly research. The Society is also committed to sharing the latest in dementia research with the public – and has published a handout to help do so. A Focus on Research is an accessible way to learn about the often complicated field of dementia research.

The handout explores dementia research from multiple angles and includes information on the biggest dementia research stories of the year, the dementia-friendly research event the Alzheimer Society of B.C. hosted in October 2018 and tips on how to spot unreliable research. It also features an interview with a dementia researcher who shares insight into her work and the future of dementia research.
