Who are the Board of Directors?

Our dynamic governance board comprises 10 dedicated members, collaborating with a team of 100 passionate staff and managing a budget of approximately $13.5 million. At the Alzheimer Society of B.C., we work closely with the provincial government, Alzheimer Societies across Canada, esteemed researchers and diverse communities of practice. Our comprehensive approach encompasses a wide range of activities, including providing impactful programs and services, leading advocacy efforts, conducting awareness-raising campaigns and supporting groundbreaking research.

At the core of our organization, we prioritize the voices and needs of people with lived experience. Their invaluable insights guide our decision-making processes and inspire us to adapt and innovate. Reflecting on the lessons learned during the past few years of the pandemic, we have embraced technology to expand our reach and ensure accessible services while recognizing the immense value of in-person interactions. Continually striving to serve British Columbians on the dementia journey, we aim to position our organization as a beacon of support and understanding.

Who are we looking for?

With several board members’ terms ending over the next six to 18 months, we hope to recruit up to five new board members. We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to join our Board of Directors. If you have experience in financial management, marketing, communications, branding, governance, health care, or if you have lived experience of dementia as a person living with the condition or a caregiver, we invite you to apply. We particularly encourage applications from people residing in all health regions of the province, including the North and Interior, as well as Indigenous people, BIPOC and racialized people, people of minority sexual orientation or gender identity and people with the skills and knowledge to engage effectively with diverse communities.
